Obviously, most of us have known Yamaha since we were kids due to the quality of their products. MT 07 bike is no exception. Being an excellent buy for the beginner rider, Yamaha MT 07 is only ideal for low-weight passengers. Its 133 mph MT 07 top speed makes it a conventional rather than a superbike.
To new riders, though, it’s easy to confuse the MT-07 with the MT-09 as they come so close to each other in terms of features. A major distinction between the two is that when using an MT-07, you’re at level with the tank when you sit. On the contrary, the tank is right above you when you sit on the MT-09.
There’s no point in ordering pricey motorcycles when you can get an equal value at a much lower price. Find out more below.
Yamaha Mt 07 Review
Yamaha Mt 07 Top Speed: 133 mph (214Km/h)
Quality
Its small engine is enough evidence that you don’t need to break your bank account or cancel your holiday tour due to the high bike maintenance costs. Though you need to maintain it regularly, it’s cheap and worth your money.
Upon buying this bike, you’ll notice a ‘CP2’ on the engine’s case, right-hand side. It means it’s a Crossplane Philosophy bike, as the company calls it. That’s to mean it’s easy to power and has great torque. Moreover, you’ll experience no vibrations whatsoever when riding. So your rides will be smooth and free of fatigue.
With many people crying about the current economy, it would be a mess to buy a 2-wheeled motor car that costs more to fuel than you can afford in a day. The 14-liter tank consumes low fuel. So, it’s economical as it doesn’t consume a lot of fuel in a km.
A classy design is a discount you get from Yamaha upon buying an MT-07. Considering that some classy designs can be a pain when you try to ride, MT-07 is not on that list. Why? Its design also minimizes the amount of internal traction. This off-set cylinder design also makes the bike light hence easy to control and ride.
Due to the 270 degrees crankshaft, you might confuse this bike for a V-twin.
Features
If you’ve been riding the MT-07, this bike might feel like a waste of money because (unlike the MT-09) it lacks a riding map. This may not sound like a big deal until you travel to new places.
There’s ABS, which means much more than a map or a ride-by-wire throttle (also missing in this model!).
The bike seat height is 805 mm. It’s therefore great for short people so they won’t strain when using it.
The rear mono-shock suspension allows the adjustment of the spring preload. The front-rear, which doesn’t allow the adjustment of the preload spring, is 41 mm.
Engine
Looks can lie! It’s no difference with this bike. Though it’s a simple bike by looks, it has a 4-stroke bike featuring eight valves (inline-twin). So, expect no vibrations when riding. The OHC liquid-cooled bike engine size is 689cc.
Most buyers agree that this is a great bike as it stands at approximately 5,000 RPM. While some argue that more advancement needs to be done on this bike, from the seat to the engine, everyone will agree that most mid-earners will afford this bike without having to borrow money.

The Closing Line
A 133 mph Yamaha MT 07 top speed is ideal for ordinary bike users. Thanks to the lack of vibrations, that gives you smooth rides. The fuel consumption makes you smile all the way to the fueling station as you think of your next trip.
Nonetheless, at its low cost, several cons are inevitable. For example, unlike most sportlike bikes, there’s a riding map as well as a ride-by-wire throttle.
