Ask Yamaha, and they’ll tell you without hesitation that the Yamaha YFZ top speed of 75 mph is among the reasons why this bike was listed as the best annual sport ATV. This comes barely after the 2005 and 2006 world companions involved the 4-stroke motorcycles. Hence, in 2007, ATV crowned it as an annual hero!
Being a 4-stroke (single-cylinder) engine and not a 2-stroke, you’ll get a fast bike on the heavy side. Thankfully, it offers better traction and a higher HP than the 2-stroke. Besides, it’s much more stable than the 2-stroke. So, why should you be looking for a 2-stroke when you have a better option in this model?
Wondering if there’s more than a 4-stroke engine and a top speed? Indeed! Keep scrolling.
Yamaha YFZ 450 Review
Yamaha YFZ 450 Top Speed: 75 mph
Engine
A powerful engine is what this motorcycle boasts about. Here’s why. Yamaha YFZ450, which is not worth more than $9,000, has a 5-speed gearbox system. Since it has a 350lb dry weight, a person weighing about 450 pounds comfortably uses it without spending more fuel. If you like, you can even add some extra weight onboard and still race fast.
Featuring a bigger throttle body which is 42mm, this model is also characterized by an ISC (Idle Speed Control). Therefore, you won’t break a sweat when starting your bike or warming it up. What’s more, the engine, which is a 5-titanium valve, features a liquid-cooling system.
YFZ5O features a wet multi-plate. So what? You don’t have to worry about waking everyone when you arrive home late – it’s a quiet bike! Furthermore, the wet, multi-plate clutch also makes your rides smooth. Plus, your bike stands a chance of lasting long! So, you can enjoy five continued years of daily use. Of course, with regular maintenance and good care.
With a CC of 499, YFZ 450 motorcycle boasts of being the only champion’s bike for sport(like) races. Due to its quick-revving and fuel-injected type of engine, it’s among the few advanced motorcycles.
Its cast aluminum/steel chassis lightweight caliber makes this model easy to ‘fly’ on the roads.
Brakes
Characterized by double and single-disc hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear tires, respectively, the YFZ450 model has strong brakes. The brake disc dimensions for the front tire are 5 inches, while those of the rear ones are 6.8 inches.
So, whether you want to do racing with friends on wet ground, dry, or sandy, it’s likely that your bike won’t notice any difference.
Dimensions
The rim dimension of the rear tires is 20/10-9, while that of the front ones is 21/7-10. The wheelbase, on the other hand, is 50.4 inches while the length is 72.4 inches. At its lowest setting, which is probably ideal for short dudes, the seat height is 31.9 inches.
If like me, you have ridden on a motorcycle, you definitely know that the rear suspension is designed in a way that it can hold more weight than the front suspension. It’s the same for this Yamaha model. So, while the front suspension is 9.1 inches, the rear one is 10.6 inches.
A little more on the suspension: The front has a piggyback that is slightly high and whose preload adjustment is threaded and rebound. This is contrary to the rear one, which is a threaded preload rebound suitable for both low and high-speed compression.
